Vista Centre Brain Injury Services
Vista Centre Brain Injury Services (VCBIS) is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors whose role is to plan and determine policy and be accountable to the community it serves, so that the stated purpose, goals and objectives of the organization can be attained.
Due to the life altering effects of a brain injury, VCBIS has made a commitment to ensuring that the delivery of services is based primarily upon the unique and individual needs of each person. Long term support programs are often necessary and are provided as long as there is potential for goal achievement.
VCBIS provides quality, caring, continual support to persons living with the effects of Acquired Brain Injury. We help them enhance their relationships, personal abilities, and life skills, while assisting them to maximize their potential within the community.
VCBIS provides the highest quality levels of service to the maximum number of clients in a cutting-edge facility, and is recognized as the leading service provider to the Acquired Brain Injury community in the Greater-Ottawa area/ Champlain LHIN.
VCBIS believes in an individual's ability to develop and to participate in society. VCBIS provides each client with the opportunity to move towards his/her maximum emotional, social, vocational, educational, cognitive, spiritual and financial potential, with dignity and confidence.
VCBIS has been fully accredited by Accreditation Canada since 2003 and we continue to participate in the accreditation process every three years. Accreditation is a cornerstone of quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, enabling an organization to regularly and consistently assess and improve its services.
VCBIS values the participation of family in the clients' lives and encourages the growth of these relationships. Family members are invited to actively participate in individual planning and review and client/family conferences.
VCBIS collaborates with a wide variety of professionals, including our consulting Clinical Psychologist, service providers, community groups and other agencies to ensure that clients have access to appropriate options and resources that meet their individual needs and assist in the attainment of their personal goals.
